The Second Crossover deadline for bills is Thursday, April 14th — to survive, a bill must pass its Third Reading (“vote”) on the floor of its non-originating chamber (the House floor for Senate bills, and the Senate floor for House bills).

Some bills have already passed that Third Reading vote, and are on their way to crossing back to their originating chamber. A large number of bills, though, are being scheduled to be voted on during session on Tuesday, April 12th. Sometimes the floor debates can be quite lively, as legislators offer their positions for or against certain pieces of legislation.

Both the House and Senate start things off early that day, and the sessions are broadcast on Olelo Community Media here on Oahu, and sent out to the neighbor islands’ PEG access channels. Want to watch? Here’s the info:

  • 9:00 a.m. House Floor Session (House Chambers)
